Dysfunctional Beginnings is meant to be a colloquial, accessible, and diverse space. Cathartic for some. Hilarious to others. Or, a combination of both. A space for remembering, sharing, creating, and really exploring what constitutes ‘the beginning’. I’m a huge fan of adolescence. I find it tragically funny. I want to share that perspective, and discover many new perspectives of beginnings of any kind.
My name is Jessica Lipman. I’m a writer, filmmaker, scholar, and instructor. I have a diverse background, having worked with a nonprofit arts organization, Rutgers University, as well as film companies/endeavors. I have plans to attend a Masters program in Cinema and Media Studies in the very near future. I plan to promote media literacy and education throughout my life.
